Saludos: (Greetings:)

     ¡Buenas noches!   (Good evening!)

¿Cómo estás?  (How are you?)

¿Qué tal?  (How are you?)

  Muy bien, gracias.  (Very well, thanks.)

  Muy mal.  (Very bad.)

  Así, así.  (So-so.)

  ¡Fantástico! / ¡Fantástica! (Fantastic!)

  ¡Horrible!  (Horrible!)

Despidos: (Ways of saying goodbye:)

       Hasta luego.  (See you later.)

       Hasta mañana.  (See you tomorrow.)

       Hasta la vista.   (See you when I see you.)  

        Nos vemos.  (We'll see eachother.)

       Adios.  (Goodbye.)

Practice tips:

1. Greet your child in Spanish in the morning, afternoon and at night. Have your child respond with the same greeting.

2. Practice asking and answering ¿Cómo estás? or ¿Qué tal? at home and encourage your children to ask you, siblings, family and friends.

3. Practice different ways of saying goodbye in Spanish.
