rojo = red                                        café = brown

amarillo = yellow                              negro = black

azul = blue                                       blanco = white

verde = green                                  rosado = pink

anaranjado = orange                        morado = purple

Practice tips:

1. Ask your child to identify colors of clothing, cars, foods, etc. by asking ¿De qué color es?

2. Play 'Yo veo' (the Spanish version of 'I spy') with your child. One person starts the game by saying "Yo veo algo rojo." (I see something red.) The other player looks around and names things that are red until they guess the object that the first player had in mind. Continue playing substituting other Spanish color words for 'rojo'.
